Since January 2000, Tribhuvan University Central Library has been working as the only National agency in Nepal for distribution of ISBN numbers. After nearly two and half years i.e. by the end of May 2002, as many as 2600 ISBN numbers have already been distributed to the Authors and publishers of Nepal. The ISBN they receive for their document is a 10-digit code and begin with the numbers 99933- as the National Agency code of TUCL.
Any author or publisher in Nepal who wish to get the ISBN number for their intellectual creation (Book, CD-ROM, Map, A/V ) has to fill in a form available in the library. The ISBN FORM can also be downloaded from our website. No fee is required to get the number. However, the library requests all the applicants to deposit NRS. 25/- for the form and later on send one copy of the material to the library soon after its publication.
